Calliope is a second label of wines produced by storied Okanagan Valley winery Burrowing Owl Estate. The Calliope wines, which use grapes from both the Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys, are meant to be fruit-forward and enjoyed young.The 2019 vintage in the south Okanagan started early, with moderate summer temperatures and a coolish fall, making for a balanced red with ripe fruit and refreshing acidity. Medium full-bodied and dry, with moderate tannins, the wine displays flavours of black cherry, blackcurrant, vanilla, spice, plum and mocha.�Enjoy it with a meaty lasagna, grilled lamb or barbecued pork or beef burritos.
