The result in 2019 was delicious, with a pronounced blackberry and plum fruit that has a distinctly brambly edge, plus a note of menthol, as well as a bit of spice from the Chassin casks. The texture is concentrated and scarcely less powerful than the Vieilles Vignes. Wonderful value in Grand Cru Burgundy.

The 2019 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru "Cuv�e Classique" has a fragrant nose with red berry fruit, still that touch of struck flint, fine focus with just a touch of reduction at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with a fine grip on the entry, quite chalky tannins, and white pepper towards the prolonged finish. This Cuv�e Classique is ageing with style.
